Registration for summer swim classes takes place May 18

Officials with the Department of Parks and Recreation announce that summer swim class registration will occur at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Waimea and Kapa‘a swimming pools. In addition, both pools will be closed at 2:30 p.m. to accommodate the swim class registration.

The no-cost program is open to children ages 5 to 11. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 students per class and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Classes at both Waimea and Kapa‘a will be held as follows:

  • Beginner Class, Session 1: June 4 to June 28
    • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
    • Class 1 is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    • Class 2 is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Graduation is June 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Beginner Class, Session 2: July 2 to July 26
    • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
    • Class is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    • Graduation is July 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Advanced Class, Session 2: July 2 to July 26
    • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
    • Class is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Graduation is July 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
