Kapaa Man Sentenced to 5 years in Prison for Multiple Offenses

Lihue – Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like announced that Adrian Arrisgado, age 26 of Kapaa, was sentenced today, on March 5, 2026, to five years in prison. Arrisgado previously pled Guilty to Felony Abuse of Family or Household Members, Assault in the Second Degree, Resisting an Order to Stop a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, and Unauthorized Entry Into Motor Vehicle in the First Degree.

Lawai Man Sentenced to 15 years in Prison for Fatal 2024 Crash

LĪHU‘E – Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like announced that Keola James DeCosta, age 43 of Lawai, was sentenced on February 18, 2025, to serve 15 years in prison for a crash that caused the death of Joseph Fernandez and serious, lifelong injuries to his adult granddaughter. On January 19, 2024, Decosta, while traveling at approximately 90 miles per hour, struck Mr. Fernandez’s vehicle from behind.

Hanalei Man Indicted for Murder

Hanalei Man Sentenced to 10 years in Prison

LĪHU‘E – Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like announced that Robert I Monroy, age 38 of Hanalei, was sentenced on January 9, 2025, to serve ten years in prison for robbing the Bank of Hawai`i in Lihue. He pled guilty as charged to Robbery in the Second Degree. He also pled guilty as charged in a separate case to Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer in the Second Degree.
