Mission Statement and Vision

MISSION STATEMENT: 

To protect lives and property in the County of Kauaʻi by coordinating and integrating efforts among all levels of government and the private sector to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other threats and hazards.

 

VISION: 

The Kauaʻi Emergency Management Agency strives to actively promote and enhance whole-community preparedness, resilience and safety in the face of numerous threats, hazards and disasters that can potentially affect our island communities.

Monthly Siren Test - Tuesday, September 3rd at 11:45 am

The monthly test of the all-hazard StatewideOutdoorWarning Siren System, coordinated with the test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:45a.m.


During this monthly test, all Statewide Outdoor Warning Sirens will sound a one-minute Attention Alert Signal (Steady Tone). A simultaneous test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System is conducted with the monthly siren sounding, in cooperation with Hawai'i’s broadcast industry. There will be no exercise or drill accompanying the test.
