Kawakami presented a proclamation for Wildfire Awareness Month today to personnel from the Kaua‘i Fire Department, Barking Sands Fire and Emergency Services Department Chief Oric Kuapahi, Līhu‘e Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting personnel, and a representative from the Hawai‘i Wildfire Management Organization.

5/28/25 HANALEI AND ʻANINI – The water conservation request for Department of Water (DOW) customers in the Hanalei community and ʻAnini Beach areas remains in place until further notice. Customers are asked to continue water conservation efforts in order to maintain water services and avoid a full water service outage.

Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only to avoid a water service outage.
