The Kapa‘a Swimming Pool will be closed today, June 10, due to pool maintenance. The pool will be closed tomorrow, June 11, in observance of the King Kamehameha Day holiday. The pool is anticipated to open Thursday, June 12, on its regular schedule.

HANALEI AND ʻANINI – The water conservation request for Department of Water (DOW) customers in the Hanalei community and ʻAnini beach areas remains in place. The request continues to ask customers to conserve water to maintain water services and avoid a full water service outage.

Water service shutdown scheduled for customers in Hanalei on June 18

HANALEI – The Department of Water (DOW) has scheduled a water service shutdown on Wednesday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customers located on a portion of Weke Road, from Mālolo Road to the north end of Weke Road; Kūhiō Highway, from Mālolo Road to Waikoko, in the vicinity of the hairpin turn. Other impacted areas include ʻAmaʻama Road, ʻAnae Road, Heʻe Road and Kumu Road.

LĪHUʻE – The Department of Water (DOW) invites the public to attend an upcoming event to discuss the Hanalei Water Line Improvements Project. Join the DOW on Tuesday, June 10, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hanalei Elementary School Cafeteria located at 5-5415 Kūhiō Highway in Hanalei.

DOW partners with KEO’s meal delivery programs

LĪHUʻE – In advance of the 2025 hurricane season, the Department of Water (DOW) has partnered with Kauai Economic Opportunity Inc. (KEO) to encourage water emergency preparedness through programs for Meals on Wheels, Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing. During May, participants of these programs each received a complimentary 20-liter water storage container with their meal delivery.
