UPDATE: Emergency road closure extended for Akemama Road Aug. 14

LAWAI – The Department of Public Works and its contractor, The Cutting-Edge Land Clearing Solutions, announce that the full road closure on a portion of Akemama Road in Lawai has been extended to include August 14, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., weather permitting.

The road closure is necessary for the public’s safety and to allow the contractor to remove hazardous trees hanging above the roadway. 

The contractor identified a second hazardous branch in the vicinity, requiring the extension of this emergency road closure.

The road closure is necessary for the public’s safety and to allow the contractor to remove hazardous trees hanging above the roadway.

Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
