The Kaua‘i Fire Department continues to respond to a brush fire in Keālia near Keālia Kai.
Response (NEW UPDATE)
Firefighters are on scene and personnel from Kaiakea Fire Station will be on fire watch overnight.
According to officials, the estimated 5 acre fire is about 75% contained.
There are no threats to nearby structures, nor have any injuries been reported.
According to a preliminary report, the fire was reported shortly before 3:25 p.m. today, June 6.
Assets
Crews with the Kaiakea Fire Station, Rescue 3, Tanker 3, Truck 2, Truck 8, Engine 8, the on-duty Battalion Chief, and the Kaua‘i Police Department are responding.
The Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency and the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative are also monitoring the incident.

There are no road closures at this time.
