Lihue – Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like announced that Adrian Arrisgado, age 26 of Kapaa, was sentenced today, on March 5, 2026, to five years in prison. Arrisgado previously pled Guilty to Felony Abuse of Family or Household Members, Assault in the Second Degree, Resisting an Order to Stop a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, and Unauthorized Entry Into Motor Vehicle in the First Degree in separate cases.
Arrisgado has been in custody of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation since March of 2025 in lieu of bail in his multiple cases. Arrisgado previously served a prison term after self-terminating from the Kauai Drug Court program in 2020.
Prosecutor Like said, “The defendant was given an early opportunity through drug court to change course but chose to terminate himself from that program. After serving prison time, he returned to commit a series of serious offenses, including felony domestic violence by strangulation. This sentence reflects the seriousness of that violence and the need to protect our community.”
