Traffic modifications scheduled for portions of Kapa‘a Dec. 15 to 17

KAPA‘A – The Department of Public Works and its contractor, Hirata and Associates Inc., are announcing road and single-lane closures for portions of Kukui Street and Niu Street in the Kapa‘a Area December 15 to 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Dates and locations are as follows:

December 15: Single-lane closure of the left turn for Kukui Street west of the intersection with Kūhiō Highway.

December 16: Road closure of a portion of the east side of Kukui Street at the intersection with Kūhiō Highway.

December 17: Road closure of the south end of Niu Street at the intersection with Kūhiō Highway.

These traffic modifications are necessary for geotechnical subsurface exploration for proposed traffic signal improvements and a utility pole in the area.

Access to properties will be provided. Please observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs and flaggers. Drivers should anticipate detours, lane, and road closure delays, and allow extra travel time while in the work areas.
