New Grant for Fiscal Year 2023:

The Solid Waste Division is now accepting grant applications for projects that increase recycling and waste diversion consistent with recommendations put forward in the most recent Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan Update https://www.kauai.gov/ISWMP. A total of $80,000 is available in the new competitive grant program.

Project examples include: permitting of food waste composting, capturing food waste for diversion from the landfill, plastic processing innovations, and other programs directly related to recycling and waste diversion. Grant funds are only available to non-profit organizations.
