Lane closures scheduled for guardrail repairs on Kawaihau Road May 27

KAPA‘A – The Department of Public Works and its contractor, GP Roadway Solutions, are announcing lane closures along portions of Kawaihau Road, between Kūhiō Highway and Kawaihau Place, from May 27 to May 28, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

(6:30 p.m.) HANALEI AND KILAUEA – The Department of Water (DOW) has issued an immediate water conservation notice to customers in Hanalei and ‘Anini areas until further notice, due to a mechanical failure on the water system’s pump station. Customers are advised to limit water use to essential needs only to avoid a water service outage.

DOW announces 50-gallon rain barrel grand prize drawing and food drive

LĪHUE – In honor of Earth Day 2025, the Department of Water (DOW) announces a rain barrel grand prize drawing in April. A rain barrel is a container that captures and stores rainwater from the roof. The collected rainwater is a valuable source for gardening. A total of three, 50-gallon rain barrels will be given away, to encourage water conservation outdoors and help customers save money.
