DOW scheduled shutdown and lane closure for Wailua Homesteads Jan. 15

KAPAʻA – The Department of Water (DOW) announces a scheduled water service shutdown on a portion of Opaekaa Road, a portion of Puupilo Road, Puupilo Place, Pulama Road, Makana Road, a portion of Poo Road, and all branching roads on Thursday, January 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. DOW crews will perform repairs to a section of the mainline.

Kaua‘i strengthens CRB response with certified detection dogs

LĪHU‘E – The Office of Economic Development announces that Kaua‘i’s Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) response capacity has been strengthened with the completion of a specialized conservation dog training project. The island now has four newly certified CRB detection dogs ready to support island-wide efforts to detect and manage this invasive pest.

LĪHUʻE – The Department of Water (DOW) announces that road construction will take place at the end of Pua Loke Street in Līhuʻe on July 25-26, from 7 a.m to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. This construction is necessary for the installation of an access gate near the entrance to the DOW parking lot.

Water service shutdown scheduled in Kalāheo July 23 and 24

KALĀHEO – The Department of Water (DOW) announces a water service shutdown in Kalāheo on Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Water service will be turned off for customers to allow the contractor, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company Inc. (HDCCI), to connect a new water line as part of the Kalāheo Water Systems Improvements Project.

Blessing held for Kapa‘a Homesteads Tanks Project
