Area of Oversight

The Hanalei District provides police services from Kee Beach at the northern most end of Kauai, to Olohena Road in Kapaa, on the east side of Kauai. This area encompasses the communities of Haena, Wainiha, Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea, Anahola, Kealia, and Kapaa, as well as other small neighborhoods and businesses in between. The District is also the home of Kapaa High School, three elementary schools, one middle school, and smaller private schools.

Some of Hanalei District's popular destinations for visitors, and locals alike, include the Na Pali Coast; Kalalau Trail; the Wet and Dry caves; the picturesque Hanalei Bay and Hanalei Valley; the historic Kilauea Lighthouse and Nature Preserve; and numerous, secluded, white sand beaches.

Projects

The Hanalei District is committed to working with the community, serving and protecting residents and visitors. Hanalei District personnel strive to adhere to the three principles outlined in the department's mission statement, "Respect, Integrity, and Professionalism"; and are committed to building a strong and positive relationship with the community.
